How to get here
By car
The Great Beguinage sits on the edge of the city centre, close to the E19 slip road and the regional roads. Follow the N16 towards the centre and park at the Keerdok.
Parking
The Keerdok car park is a four-minute walk away; a 24-hour ticket costs about 12.50 euro. From there you walk into the beguinage via the Rode-Kruisplein and Nonnenstraat to the Acht Zalighedenstraat.
By train
Mechelen station is under two kilometres away: a twenty-minute walk or a short bus ride. Brussels, Antwerp, Leuven and Zaventem airport are all about fifteen minutes by train.
By bike
If you arrive by bike, it spends the night safely in our enclosed bike store. Mechelen sits on several node-to-node cycling routes.
Arriving and leaving
- Check-in
- Between 15:00 and 23:00. Would you rather arrive at another time, or drop your luggage earlier? Let us know and we will work something out.
- Check-out
- Before 11:00. After check-out your luggage is welcome to stay a little longer while you head into town.
- Always someone home
- Marijke's father lives in the house and acts as concierge: there is always someone to open the door or point you the right way.
Payment and cancellation
- Payment
- In cash or by transfer to BE52 0017 9196 9209 (BIC: GEBABEBB). An invoice for business guests is always possible.
- Cancellation
- Free cancellation up to 5 days before arrival.
- Children
- Children under two stay free. A cot and high chair are ready on request.
