A house where the world stays outside for a while.
De Vrome Vos is the bed & breakfast of Erik and Marijke, in a historic house in the Great Beguinage of Mechelen. You sleep between the beguinage church and the narrow lanes of a quarter on the UNESCO World Heritage list, yet the Grote Markt is five minutes away on foot.
Inside, we chose calm: original features, contemporary handmade furniture and natural materials. Outside waits the walled garden, a small oasis where you hear the city breathe without seeing it.

Two rooms, each with its own light.
There are only two rooms, no more. Breakfast stays quiet and the house never feels full. Both rooms have a private bathroom with a tub.

The house
A living room, a walled garden, two bikes at the door.
The house is yours while you stay. The light-filled living room with its long table is open all day, coffee and tea within reach. When the weather plays along, life drifts out into the sunny walled garden.

Mechelen
The city begins where the beguinage ends.
St. Rumbold's tower, the river Dijle, museums, terraces and shopping streets: everything is within walking distance. For more, take the bikes to the Mechels Broek nature reserve, or the train to Brussels or Antwerp, fifteen minutes away.
The key is waiting.
